Ouch. Every time I do that it hurts. A hammer in my hands is a dangerous thing. Now my husband, on the other hand can, drive a nail with one solid swing. I, however, will never make a living building houses. Yet part of my mission and purpose is to build awareness about the fact that every one was born with a specific mission and purpose.

So how about you? Do you consider yourself a builder? Whether we realize it or not, all of us are born to be builders. And our life purpose is the special way in which we build.

Do you like to build things? Some are saying, Oh yeah. Bring on the power tools. And others are cringing as they remember the last time they attempted to build something.

If youre one of the many that are doubting your building abilities, please read on. You were born to be a builder and to have joy and success in your every day life.

This promise of a great life will happen for you when you start living your life purpose. You can live a life on purpose and start building what you were sent here to build by learning how to use tools.

How important and necessary are tools? Ask a builder. Builders cant build without tools. No matter how good they are, they cant drive a nail without a hammer or cut a board without a saw. And not only that, builders are only as good as their tools. A builder who uses an electric skill-saw is going to be hours and even days ahead of the builder who uses a rusty handsaw.

We read this and say, Well yeah, of course. Yet, everyday we use the same old tools to try and figure out our purpose and to build our future with.

The most powerful tools that we all have been given are: our thoughts and our power to believe, to hope and to choose, and then the ability to take action based upon our thoughts and beliefs. So todays challenge is designed to help us identify how we are using our tools.

Todays Life on Purpose Challenge:

Get two pieces of paper. On each paper draw the outline of a house. Write at the top of one of the houses, tools that build, and on the other house write, tools that destroy.

So for example, every time you think critical, limiting thoughts like: I cant; Im good for nothing; Theyre so much better than me; Ill never amount to anything. Write down any thoughts you have and that dont support the incredible human being you are on the house labeled, tools that destroy.

Then, write down every time you think a positive thought that builds your belief in your untapped potential to live a powerful on purpose life on the house labeled, tools that build. Also write down on this house every time you read a good book or this blog or do anything that supports the truth that you are a spiritual being of divine worth that has a special mission.

Now at the end of the day look at your two houses. What are your building? As you look at the tools you have been using to build your life, can you see where you need to make different choices? Are you using thoughts that build or destroy?

Wherever youre at in the building phase of your life, the good news is that its never too late to trade your tools in for better ones. Remember there is a God in heaven who is just waiting to use you to build a life of beauty and greatness, not only for you but also all those who will share the roads you travel.
