A few years ago, I was burdened with a bout of misfortunes and financial problems one after another. Life was so gloomy and uncertain at times made me felt like a total failure and stokes of wondering thoughts of how life was so unfair constantly tormented me. There were times my stress levels went berserk and the constant attacks of migraines didn’t help either.
Fortunately enough, I had the opportunity to embark on self-healing through the practice of Reiki. It was during this period that I discovered simple ways to overcoming my shortcomings, awaken the ability within myself to heal both mentally and physically. In order to become whole and healthy, we must balance our bodies, mind and spirit by having positive mental attitude about ourselves, about life and also a strong spiritual connection.
Follow this simple steps to achieving just that.
1. Stop all Self-Criticism
Criticism never changes anything. Refuse to criticise yourself. Accept yourself as you are.
Everyone changes; when you condemn yourself, your changes are negative. However, when you
approve of yourself, your changes are positive.
2. Don’t Frighten Yourself
Stop terrorizing yourself with your scary thoughts. It’s a horrible way to live. Find a mental
image that gives you pleasure, (mine is the tranquil deep blue sea) immediately switch all your scary thoughts to pleasure thoughts.
3. Be Gentle, Kind and Patient
Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. And be patient with yourself as you embark on new
ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really love and cherish.
4. Be Kind To Your Mind
Self-hatred is only hating your own thoughts. DON’T hate yourself for having these thoughts.
Gently change your way of thinking.
5. Praise Yourself Always
Constant criticism breaks down the inner spirit. PRAISE builds it up on the other hand. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little tasks constantly.
6. Support Yourself
Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends when in need and allow them to help you. It is being STRONG to ask for help when you need it.
7. Be Loving To Your Negativities
Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now you are discovering new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So, lovingly release all of the old negative patterns of thinking.
8. Take Care of Your Body
Learn about nutrition if you haven’t already. Find out what kind of fuel your body need to have
optimum energy and vitality? Learn also about exercises. What kind of exercise can you enjoy?
Cherish the “TEMPLE” you live in.
9. Mirror Practice
Look into your eyes often. Express this sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself when looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents, your spouse, your siblings, your kids, your boss, by looking into the mirror. Forgive them too. At least once a day, say: “I Love you. I really Love you!”
10. Do It Now
Wait no further. Don’t wait till you get well; or lose that weight; or get that new job; or the new relationship.
